  • Basic computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Windows, Publisher, Excel, Word, ACS Church Software, PowerChurch and other publishing software. Some knowledge of office equipment such as scanners, copiers, fax machines, and the use of e-mail and internet is necessary.
  • Ability to demonstrate and articulate a deep, personal, and mature relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
  • Ability to maintain a lifestyle that is regarded as morally acceptable by the current version of the United Methodist Book of Discipline.
  • Demonstrated desire to make more and better disciples for Jesus Christ.
  • Strong team player with the rest of the staff and congregation.
  • Spiritual maturity and commitment to a Christian Lifestyle.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from members of the congregation and the public in a professional, caring manner.

Children's Garden Director

The requirements for this position are as follows:

    • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    • Ability to read, analyze, and interprets curriculums and study series that might be used in the performance of the job’s duties. Ability to write reports, assemble training materials, and lead training sessions with said material. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in Staff Meetings and at Administrative Council meetings.

    • Ability to write articles for publication (including but not limited to - the monthly newsletter and web site) that conform to the prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to Pastor, public groups, and/or SPRC.

    • Ability to maintain a lifestyle that is regarded as morally acceptable by the United Methodist Book of Discipline.

    • Spiritual maturity and commitment to a Christian lifestyle.

    • Strong team player with the rest of the staff and congregation.

    • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from parents, teachers, coordinators, or children with regard to the Children’s Ministry.

    • Ability to work with basic computer programs and communication systems.

    • Must consent to a background check including criminal and sex offender.

    • The ability to analyze and monitor the financial health of Children’s Garden (C.G.).

    • Must have thorough knowledge of all DHS requirements and requirements of other regulatory bodies, including HUMC and C.G. policies and procedures and meet those requirements and expectations.
